Deepak Raj Joshi is from Vyas-2, Damauli, in Tanahun district of Nepal’s Gandaki Province. He is a telecommunication engineer by profession, with working experience in technology, IT consulting, wireless and network engineering, and project management.
He spent roughly seventeen years in the United States before returning permanently to Nepal. That return shaped the work that followed: instead of treating public life as a career, he came to it through education, writing and civic engagement in his own district.
He is Managing Director of New Millennium College. Alongside that work he has written extensively on politics, democracy, governance, society, education, ethics and contemporary Nepal, contributing a regular column to New Spotlight Magazine since 2018 as well as writing for Nepali-language publications.
He practises a minimalist lifestyle, is vegan, and runs Nepal’s first vegan online news portal. He travels around the country giving lectures on veganism and ethical living. His interests span politics, education, technology, philosophy, spirituality, the environment and social reform.
